The Melbourne music scene has introduced a new music festival with a unique lineup of national and international acts. Out On The Weekend promises to provide quality Americana music, gourmet food and fine booze. In recent years the live music landscape has been evolving and it is these smaller, genre specific events that are proving to be more popular than the larger scale Australian music festivals.
The fresh-faced one-day music festival will host an extensive lineup of singer-songwriters from around the world. Headlining is Justin Townes Earle, the talented son of Americana icon Steve Earle. Joining Earle at the top of the bill is Australian Bluesfest historian Henry Wagons.
Out On The Weekend was created by Brian Taranto who describes his passion for bringing the music festival to life in a letter to the public;
“Ever since my first concert at the Wandong Country Music Festival in the mid 70’s, I have had a fascination with the country sounds, the roots of it all, let’s just call it Americana music…I’ve always tried to bring the best of what I see, hear and discover to our fine shores for us all to experience the good shit.”
This stellar new Aussie music festival will be staged at the Seaworks in Willamstown, Victoria. Early bird tickets go on sale July 25th for $79. There will also be limited ‘Cripple Creek Ferry Packages’ available for $199, offering festival-goers a return ferry trip from Docklands to and from the festival – complete with live entertainment – as well as food and beverage vouchers and special merchandise.
Out On The Weekend is an all ages music festival and children under the age of twelve can enter FREE.
