Pond Announces National Tour!

POND3

Psychedelic Perth rockers Pond have announced they will be hitting the road for a national tour in December to showcase tracks from their latest album, Hobo Rocket.

The release of the album last month brings their total to five LPs in just as many years, and although they’ve received much attention for their history of sharing members with Tame Impala, the boys have certainly managed to spin their own style. Featuring a total of seven tracks filled with intensely raw emotion and vivid guitar riffs, they have become known for their dark psych-rock and this album is no different. The album manages to tie together seamlessly, having been described as real, raw, and “imperfectly perfect”. With such diversity ranging from the heavy spoken words and garage rock of the title track, all the way to the almost angelic and soothing sounds of ‘O Dharma’, the set is sure to be a captivating live show.

In fact, if the tour announcement wasn’t enough to get your Pond senses tingling, today they’ve also dropped the video for ‘O Dharma’! Shot in a single afternoon, the rugged recording is – according to the band – “part ethereal, part mind explosion and has some kind of Indian coloured dust thrown in for good measure.” If that description isn’t enough to leave you intrigued to watch it for yourself, I don’t know what is!

The band, now fronted by Nick Allbrook (who you may recognise as the former bassist of Tame Impala), will be kicking off the tour in their hometown of Perth on December 12th. They’ll be hitting all five major cities in what will be a jam-packed week, before welcoming the New Year with sets at Falls Festival and Southbound. This will be the only headline tour before they head back into the studio to record album number six, so make sure you catch them while you can! Get your tickets here.
