Burlesque rockers Bertie Page Clinic dropped their newest single ‘One Swan Pond’ on Friday. They are a band once kicked out of the Edinburgh fringe festival and accused of being too loud and too naked. This single proves different – ‘One Swan Pond’ is the perfect mix of nudity and loud, proud rock n’ roll.
The rock and roll anthem is the second single of Bertie Page Clinic’s upcoming album Too Loud Too Naked and is accompanied by a raunchy music video with just the right amount of cross dressing:
Despite the impression you might receive from the lip stick smothered, hairy legged, corset clad gentlemen in the video, ‘One Swan Pond’ isn’t just a naughty bit of fun. The lyrics delve into the world of burlesque dancing and are a stand against the tyranny and bitchiness involved. Lead singer Bertie Page‘s powerful vocals set a satirical mood as the video exposes the materialistic attitude that can surround burlesque.
Even if ‘One Swan Pond’ doesn’t have you dancing around you bedroom in your underwear, which it probably does, it certainly has a few guilty pleasures for all to enjoy.
