The Vernons Release “Standing in Line” From New EP

Blurred

Warm distorted guitars, booming bass, a crispy voice and a glass of scotch.  Yep, it’s rock and roll. Gold Coast band The Vernons have released ‘Standing in Line’, a funky blues fueled track, with a rocking beat that contrasts the serious lyrics.  It’s a really enjoyable single that features Kravitz-esque guitar riffs, and a chorus with a vocal melody so catchy that it begs to be sung along with.

The song is off the debut EP Volume I, which of course means a tour is on the way.  Not only will the four piece be playing Black Bear Lodge on August 22, they’ve scheduled a secret Brisbane show to kick off the tour.  The group snagged a spot on this year’s Big Day Out, so I’m really geared up to see their live show for myself.  Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details.
