Placebo announce ‘Loud Like Love’

Placebo1In case you haven’t heard yet, the talented Placebo have announced a new album, Loud Like Love, to be released later this year.  It’ll be their first full studio album release since 2009’s Battle for the Sun.

Placebo made the announcement on their website, along with a list of European tour dates later in the year.  Loud Like Love actually has its own site, where you can check out the new artwork and the different purchase options: the humble CD,  a digi pack, 12” vinyl or a super deluxe boxset, which of course is the one I want.  The release date is scheduled for September 16, 2013, and I cannot wait!

The androgynous lead singer Brian Molko is famous for his controversial lyrics about drug abuse and his sexuality, which made him a subject of media focus in the nineties.  Yet the band’s music proved popular with the youth, and has been featured on Cruel Intentions and The Vampire Diaries.  Check out one of my favourite videos from the band, for the song ‘Pure Morning’:
