Aussie band, Grinspoon have a new single on the air waves. ‘Passerby’ is the lead single from their new album Black Rabbits and its a more refined rock sound compared to many of Grinspoon’s earlier works. I’ve never been a big fan of the band and to me this is probably the first song I have enjoyed listening to since I first listened to them probably around 2002. Add on the few years they were around before that and you can see why I’m pretty impressed with this song.
The song’s lyrics are pretty much about a guy falling for a chick that he doesn’t really know. The thing I like about this song is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously and it’s just good and easy to listen to. I always felt that Grinspoons songs were trying to be a little deep for no reason. So this is a refreshing change.
‘Passerby’ is on Grinspoon’s new album Black Rabbits. And you’ll be able to catch Grinspoon at the Big Day Out in January, 2013.
